Logging Sports
Each competitor stands 20 feet from the target and takes a practice throw. The total of the next three throws determines your place in the standings. A bullseye counts as 5 points and each ring is worth one less point as you move outward on the target.
The competition is open to all ages.
Choker Race Competition (Chokerman's Race)
Racing across open ground the competitor carries the choker cable around the climbing pole and back. The race is timed - the winner of each set is the first to complete the task of securing the choker cable around the log at the finish line.

Single Buck and Double Buck Competition
The competitors use a crosscut saw to cut or buck a round off the end of the log as quickly as possible. Competitions are single buck men's, double buck men's or double buck women's (Jill and Jill) and double buck men's and women's (Jack and Jill). The best overall time wins.

The competitor uses a chainsaw to cut two rounds off the end of the log as quickly as possible. Saws are started manually and this time is included in the overall time. Different heats require the use of either stock or modified saws that are within the regulations.

Competitors race to the top of the pole in this exciting and physically demanding sport. Each year the previous year winner is challenged by anyone who thinks they have the stamina and speed to race to the finish line at the top of the pole.
